Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-09-27
Short version
- Your controller input is processed only in your browser and is never uploaded.
- We don’t use accounts or analytics cookies. If you send feedback, we receive what you write.
- Our hosting provider processes technical access data (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site.
Controller
The controller responsible under the GDPR is the operator named in the imprint. Contact: contact@stickdrifttester.com.
Controller input (the drift test)
The tester reads stick and button values via your browser’s Gamepad API. These values, and the name the browser reports for your controller, are processed locally on your device only. They are not transmitted to us or to third parties.
If you create a result link, the link contains the measured offsets and the detected controller type. This data is sent to our server only when someone opens the link, like any other page request. It contains no personal information.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit the site, Vercel processes technical data such as your IP address, date and time of the request, the requested page and your browser’s user agent, in order to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a secure, working website). Vercel may process data in the USA; transfers are based on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual clauses. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
Fonts and scripts
Fonts are served from our own domain; no requests are made to external font services. The site loads no third-party tracking scripts.
Feedback form
If you use the feedback form, we receive the type of feedback and your message, plus your email address if you enter one and, only if you tick the box, your browser’s user agent and the names of connected controllers. We use this solely to read and answer your feedback and to improve the tool. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries and fixing problems); where you give an email address to get a reply, also Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
The message is delivered to us by email through Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc., 2261 Market Street #5039, San Francisco, CA 94114, USA) acting as our processor. Data may be processed in the USA on the basis of standard contractual clauses. See Resend’s privacy policy. We delete feedback once it has been dealt with, at the latest after 12 months, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Stored in your browser
Two things are saved in your browser’s local storage so they are still there on your next visit: your light or dark mode choice, and the numbers of your last drift test (date, controller type and the two stick offsets), so the next test can show a before/after comparison. Both stay on your device, are never sent to us and are not cookies. You can remove them at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
Changes
We will update this policy when the site or the services we use change.
