Xbox Elite stick drift FAQ

Does stick tension affect the drift result?

Tension changes how stiff the stick feels. A stick that drifts at rest usually drifts at any tension, but it is worth testing at the setting you normally play with.

Can I fix Elite Series 2 drift myself?

Recalibrating and cleaning can help with mild drift. The stick sensor is soldered to the board, so replacing it needs soldering skills – within the warranty period, contact Microsoft support instead.

Does this work with the original Elite (Series 1)?

Usually yes, via USB. The Series 1 has no Bluetooth, so it needs a cable or the Xbox Wireless Adapter.
